Getting there & the terminal

Corsica Ferries departs from its own terminal in Toulon, 2 avenue de l'Infanterie de Marine, 83000 Toulon, right behind the motorway exit: from Marseille via the A50 (exit Toulon-Centre, then follow "Port"), from Nice via the A8 and A57. You can park at the Mayol car park, a three-minute walk away, or at the Port Marchand car park.

Check-in & departure

  • With a vehicle: no later than one hour before departure; in high season Corsica Ferries recommends 90 minutes.
  • On foot: no later than 30 minutes before departure.

After this deadline, booked boarding is no longer guaranteed, and the ship may depart up to 30 minutes early. Online check-in opens seven days before departure; carry ID for all travellers.

On board

For the overnight crossing, book a two- or four-berth cabin as a flat rate for exclusive use, or a reclining seat; cabins must be vacated one hour before arrival. On board there's a restaurant, self-service, bars and Wi-Fi packages for an extra charge. Payment is in euros; bank cheques aren't accepted.

Vehicles, bikes & pets

Cars, motorhomes and motorcycles are all carried; dimensions must be given at booking, with a surcharge over 5.00 m length, 1.90 m height or 2.00 m width. LPG must be declared. Arrival & onward travel

Golfo Aranci sits on Sardinia's northeastern tip; Corsica Ferries docks at the Nuova Stazione Marittima. It's about twenty kilometres to Olbia, and the town has its own railway station on the line to Olbia. For the Costa Smeralda, Golfo Aranci is the nearest port.

Toulon - Golfo Aranci

Direct from Toulon to the Costa Smeralda

The regular route from Toulon to Sardinia ends in Porto Torres in the northwest. Corsica Ferries only sails to Golfo Aranci on the northeast coast, about twenty kilometres from Olbia, as an exception - with occasional sailings, most recently in September.

The crossing is a long one, 13 to 17 hours depending on the timetable, and runs overnight. Check early whether your date fits; otherwise Toulon - Porto Torres is the reliable alternative.
