ferrytosardinia.com is an independent information site for the ferry connections to Sardinia. It compares routes from mainland Italy (Livorno, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Piombino, Naples), from France (Toulon, Nice) and from Spain (Barcelona) as well as from Corsica and Sicily, arriving at Olbia, Porto Torres, Golfo Aranci, Arbatax and Cagliari. The crossings on these routes are operated by Corsica Ferries, Moby Lines (including Tirrenia), Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV) and Grimaldi Lines.

Sardinia is not one crossing but a range of them, and the two ends of that range have almost nothing in common. From Bonifacio on Corsica to Santa Teresa di Gallura it is a one-hour hop that you can decide on the morning of. From Livorno to Olbia it is seven to nine hours, from Toulon or Barcelona a night on board with a cabin booked in advance. The calendar matters as much as the map: on the main routes ferries run daily in high summer, sometimes several times a day, while outside the holiday months the frequency drops sharply and some sailings, the Piombino ones among them, disappear from the timetable altogether. That is why we give departure port, crossing time, frequency and operator route by route, and treat the car, camper and dog rules separately.

We are not the official website of Corsica Ferries, Moby Lines, GNV or Grimaldi Lines; current schedules, prices and booking conditions are set by each operator. We are not a Sardinia travel guide and not a hotel portal: we deliberately leave out sights on Sardinia, hotel bookings, flights and rental cars, and focus on the crossing itself.
