Getting there & the terminal
Corsica Ferries departs Toulon from its own terminal: 2 avenue de l'Infanterie de Marine, 83000 Toulon, right behind the motorway exit. Coming from Marseille, take the A50, exit at Toulon-Centre and follow the "Port" signs; from Nice, take the A8, exit at Hyères/Toulon, then the A57 towards the port.
Two car parks sit close to the port: the Mayol car park, three minutes' walk from the terminal, and the Port Marchand car park. If you already have your ticket, you can drive straight to the embarkation car park and get your boarding pass there, no need to go via the port office.
Check-in & departure
- With a vehicle: at least one hour before departure; in peak season Corsica Ferries recommends 90 minutes.
- On foot: at least 30 minutes before departure.
Miss the deadline and your booked embarkation is no longer guaranteed, the ship can leave up to 30 minutes ahead of the stated time. You can check in online from seven days before departure and load your boarding pass onto your phone; keep ID ready for every passenger, checks can happen at the port and on board.
On board
On its longer routes Corsica Ferries uses its Mega Express and Cruise Ferries: restaurant, self-service, bars, shop and lounges on board. For the overnight crossing you book a two- or four-berth cabin as a package, or a reclining seat instead; cabins must be vacated one hour before arrival. Payment on board is by card or in cash in euros, bank cheques are not accepted.
Vehicle, bike & pet
Cars, motorhomes and motorbikes can travel with you; you enter length, height and width when booking. Anything over 5.00 m long, 1.90 m high or 2.00 m wide carries a surcharge and must be declared in advance, or boarding can be refused. LPG-powered vehicles must be declared at booking. Arrival & onward travel
Porto Torres sits on the Gulf of Asinara in north-west Sardinia; Corsica Ferries docks at the Stazione Marittima. From here the SS131 runs via Sassari to Cagliari, the SP42 to Alghero, and the SP90 along the north coast to Santa Teresa di Gallura. This is the right port for the island of Asinara, Stintino and the beaches around Alghero.
