Getting there & the terminal
Corsica Ferries departs Sète from the Gare Maritime Orsetti (Place Mangeot, 34200 Sète). From the A9, take exit 33 "Sète/Balaruc", follow the signs to Sète, then follow "Port" or "Gare Maritime" signs to the harbour.
For Sète, Corsica Ferries recommends being at the terminal at least 90 minutes before departure; the hard deadlines are below. If you already have your ticket, drive straight to the boarding car park, where you'll receive your boarding pass.
Check-in & departure
- With a vehicle: no later than one hour before departure, 90 minutes recommended.
- On foot: no later than 30 minutes before departure.
After this deadline, booked boarding is no longer guaranteed, and the ship may depart up to 30 minutes early. Online check-in opens seven days before departure; carry ID for all travellers, as the crossing runs from France to Italy.
On board
The crossing takes almost a full day, so a cabin is worth it. Corsica Ferries sells two- and four-berth cabins as a flat rate for exclusive use, or reclining seats in the seating lounge; cabins must be vacated one hour before arrival. On board there's a restaurant, self-service, bars, a boutique and Wi-Fi packages for an extra charge. Payment is in euros; bank cheques aren't accepted.
Vehicles, bikes & pets
Cars, motorhomes and motorcycles are all carried; give length, height and width at booking. A surcharge applies over 5.00 m length, 1.90 m height or 2.00 m width, and undeclared oversized vehicles can jeopardise boarding. LPG vehicles must be declared at booking. Arrival & onward travel
Porto Torres lies on the Gulf of Asinara; Corsica Ferries docks at the Stazione Marittima. The SS131 leads to Sassari and on to Cagliari, the SP42 to Alghero, and the SP90 along the north coast. Travelling straight on to Corsica, you'll find the ferry to Bonifacio at Santa Teresa di Gallura.
