Getting there & the terminal
Corsica Ferries departs from Nice at the Port de Commerce, Terminal 1 (06300 Nice). From Aix-en-Provence, take the A8, exit 50 "Promenade des Anglais", then follow the expressway towards "Acropolis" and the signs for "Port de Nice"; from Italy, take exit 55 "Nice Est" towards the city centre. You can park at the Port Lympia car park or the Entrecasteaux car park, both by the port.
Check-in & departure
- With a vehicle: at least one hour before departure; for Nice, Corsica Ferries recommends 90 minutes.
- On foot: at least 30 minutes before departure.
After the deadline, boarding is no longer guaranteed, and the ship may depart up to 30 minutes early. Online check-in opens seven days before departure; carry ID for all travellers - on the routes from Nice, a driving licence is also accepted as ID.
On board
For the night you can book a two- or four-berth cabin as a package, or a reclining seat; cabins must be vacated one hour before arrival. On board there's a restaurant, self-service, bars and Wi-Fi packages. Payment is in euros; bank cheques are not accepted.
Vehicle, bike & pets
Cars, motorhomes and motorbikes can travel; enter dimensions in the booking, with a surcharge over 5.00 m in length, 1.90 m in height or 2.00 m in width. Arrival & onward travel
Golfo Aranci lies at the north-eastern tip of Sardinia; the ferry docks at the Nuova Stazione Marittima. Olbia is a good twenty kilometres away, and the town has a station on the line to Olbia. This is the nearest port for the Costa Smeralda.

From the French Riviera to the Costa Smeralda
In Corsica Ferries' regular timetable, Nice is the port for Corsica and, with occasional departures, for Porto Torres. The operator sails to Golfo Aranci on Sardinia's north-east coast only as an exception - most recently with a single departure towards the end of September.
The crossing takes around 14 to 15 hours and runs overnight. If the date suits you, you'll save the detour via Olbia; otherwise there's Nice - Porto Torres or travelling via Italy.
