Getting there & the terminal

Sardinia ferries depart from Naples at Calata Porta di Massa, in the commercial port, not at Molo Beverello where the fast boats to the islands in the bay depart. Your terminal is printed on the ticket; check it before you set off.

By car, follow signs for "Napoli centro" from Salerno (A3) or from Rome and Caserta (A30), then the exit for "Porto - Imbarco traghetti". Without a car, get off at Stazione Centrale, the station closest to the terminal; bus route 152 runs from there to the port.

For departures to Cagliari there's a fast-track process: show your ticket directly to staff in the marshalling area instead of queuing at the counter. Keep a valid photo ID ready.

Cars, motorhomes and motorbikes can travel on this route; vehicles are subject to the longer check-in deadlines above. The car deck is closed during the crossing, so take everything you need with you upstairs.
