Getting there & the terminal

The Sardinia ferries leave Livorno from the Stazione Marittima. Some departures instead use the Varco Galvani north of the city, which has no public transport link. Check which entrance is printed on your ticket before you travel, as it's difficult to reach without a car.

By car, you can reach the port from the north via the A11/A12, from the south via the A1, and from Florence via the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno expressway. Without a car, take the train to Livorno Centrale, then a bus to Piazza Grande, and walk the final ten minutes. Pisa airport is around 25 kilometres away.
